Hi FJ,
I particularly enjoyed reading your post. Albeit that much of the brieifng notes are historic, they do convey that sense of excitement and wonderment that I had on first begining to understand what exactly it was inside the POET box during the OPEL days. There is no doubting that what Geof Taylor has produced is truely amazing technolgy.
So many thanks for the memory, which re-establishes my investment aims in POET which was to be involved in the development of technologh that could take over where Silicon CMOS cannot go. However, I did go rather mad and broke all the usual investment rules by over-investing and have to shake my head when I remain as enthusiastic today as then now that I have a clearer understanding of the risks that we face, technical, managerial and financial, on the road to commercialisation and return on my investment.
Yes the rocky road to commercialising POET has had some dreadful potholes but the vehicle is still miraculusly lurching forward. We may not be building the POET Optical products or ICs as we originally envisaged, but our pioneers are laying the path that could get us there. I simply had no idea originally it would take this long but fortunately I have the patience to remain long and was happy with the Risk associated.
Thanks
Sula
