Message: Re: Mux/Demux US Patent Application by POET

I do feel that with all the patents granted over the past year and to the present time were/are part of any delay in advancing the POET side of things. In such a competitive industry, one would not want to bring out technology publically until the right protection was in place or else the competition would rush with their version before POET has a chance in each sector to gain market share. It is important to be patent protected because one idea leads to another causing a whole new set of competitive variables out there.

It is good to know that POET feels they have a disruption with the InP (Bill Ring) products near term while the POET side of innonvation continues. I do have a concern about the POET side of things though. Does POET still have that 2-year window anymore in the GAAs' environment despite continue to patent or seek to patent their POET technologies via Geoff Taylor's innovations?
