POET will have an "Industrial News Release" announcement for the Aug 1-3 conference in Singapore. Let's see how the dust settles. It has been an emotional day and I am devasted to see 85% of my share value wiped out, but I do believe that this will turn around and that it has actually already done so, but it is not reflected in the share price; hence, management also feeling that the company is undervalued. That being said, meeting timelines and showing the market that there is less likelihood to have to raise money will change the 'skepticism' that the market obviously has. In hindsight, we were probably lucky to get that last financing at the price we did in terms of what came out today.
The amount of shares sold today was very small related to the float, it was not a panic sale. Even jittery mazan4, rightly so, bought more shares and he has been one of the more emotional lead posters here, so that may bode well as he must understand the value that is still in this company moving forward.
My theory is that from the last financing those new shareholders probably were informed and as a condition of that finanicing that the money is to go towards the InP platform. So, based upon the shares traded today, those shareholders are still with us. And how close is POET now to selling products from its InP platform? So this announcement for Aug 1 to 3 really intrigues me that POET is probably ready in that area and that we will see positive accleration in this company since they decided in a few NRs ago of "managing their own destiny". So this is the year from this terrible bottom that POET launches, but I do feel that this launch will have legs and any criticism towards management we may have will become moot. They had a lot to turn around and they had to find the best road out of all the obstacles that they had. So, we are still alive and kicking and the kicks are going to go up now and not down on us any more. I feel that based on responses today from them that they are much more in control of where this is going than ever before. They just need to make the rigght moves to stay strong enough from predators as Aves99isback is referring to, but I wouldn't sound any alarm bells yet. It is still to early to feel defeated, because we have to see how the InP platform pans out --- they did say today that they are right on track with that platform. Remember, it is also disruptive, but this 'disruptive' is doable now and not in the future. I thought I would share that perspective with this forum today. There isn't much more for me to say, so I will stop posting until after that announcement to get a better grasp of how this is going. Hopefully, POET will make that leap it really needs and unfortunately the timing of that didn't coincide with today's AGM, but it is only a couple of weeks off and InP discrete samples are already in the hands of customers. That means they are studying what to do with them now and how they will fit into their technological plans.
So some of what I posted here is what is between the lines, because more cannot be said until it becomes 'material' in order to be fair to all.
