I would suggest that there is little change but I still believe that within that two week period there was quite a bit of activity including covers such that their profit was realized and the ending short position was relatively unchanged. What we need but is unlikely to occur is a daily short position activity report which provides opening + sold short - covered = ending. That to me would potentially provide some explanation of what is truly happening to the SP, at least in my opinion
