Rainer "Folks, you are still attaching way too much importance to that press release – my humble opinion, of course."
I agree that we should not set high expectations for the content of the "Industrial Press Release", however it is very reasonable to expect that there will be an "Industrial Press Release", based on what Suresh stated at the AGM "... CLEO, that is actually going to happen in Singapore August 1st to 3rd, we are a platinum sponsor, and we are going to be making these announcements, oh actually in an Industrial Press Release at the conference in a couple of weeks from now". This is a direct quote (or close). Seems pretty clear to me that this statement meant a written release for the public, not anything to do with the booth at the conference.
In all fairness the week is not over yet, and I can think of various scenerios, which include:
1) This won't happen this week, there will be silence and no reason why, historically in line with many other statements made by POET that did not happen
2) This won't happen this week, as the content got more complicated, and they can't release anything yet
3) It will happen this week
IMO, I doubt it is 2) and 1) would not be good for credibilty, so hopefully it is 3).
In Feb 2016, I brought up that an issue is that when POET makes statements, even though we may think "awesome", it is just "words" and there is no proof (see link below). IMO, currently the credibilty of management is on thin ice due to so many cases of the "words" not coming true, and I believe that the investment community agrees with this, the evidence being the current SP. This can and needs to change, and they can still get back credibility, but I feel they better do this soon, and they just might. I could go on and on about the inaccurate "words", but I won't aside from one clear example. We now need to change the "words" of "weeks not quarters" to "years not quarters". So, weeks become years - serioulsy? I think the only change in terms of the credibilty of the "words" from a couple of years ago is that it is currently a lot worse.
If you say you are going to do something, then do it, or don't say it in the first place. Pretty simple really. Just the way I see it, and it is not all rosy right now, but has the potential to get a lot better.
This post makes me sad with comments such as "A pat on the back for Management to not have to report delays due to the Anadigics uncertainty" & "I look forward to a break in the so called "buying opportunities""
Good Luck!!
