"I imagine others like me are feeling glum about the turn of events announced at the AGM albeit sugar coated with prospects of DL doing 'ok'. "
So you're glum - geez, finally! Look at it this way, some are more adept at recognizing reasons to be glum, but you're apparently catching up!! And now, you have found a new reason for a little cheer, so that's good, it feeds your optimistic personality. I sure hope your "jewel in the crown" is precious and not a topaz or a garnet. And I refuse to make the ubiquitous comment that, "the next three months will tell us we need to know." Haha, that's one of the most constantly incorrect comments made on all developmental company stock message boards.
Also, your comment:
"The need for a development partner does rather establish that whilst the aquisitions may prove lucrative they have failed to be the 'milk cow' invisioned as the means to develop the first POET product."
Absolutely, and while that may have been envisioned, at some point it was clear that it was not even in the same ballpark of being sufficient. The long-ago stated goals of POET were lofty beyond imagination, when you consider the size of the company, the work of essentially one man with woefully underbudgeted facilities/equipment.
Unfortunately, the romantic in many of us (especially Canadians, as no doubt a little national pride was tied to this whole endeavor) led us to have a distorted sense of exactly what POET's chances of success on that grand scale were.
I'm sorry for going to the pessimistic side of what I feel is a realistice outlook, but I must admit that this weekend's events in Virginia plus the ongoing situation with N. Korea has me feeling somewhat, in a word, lousy.
