My Poet,

Your collection of articles and video clips certainly provides some very good background to what has likely led to the Indian RFP.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfOzwfFpXGg

In the above clip Ajit talks about POET at Deftronics in Sept 2015.

He outlined his background with Global Foundries and the resulting understanding of the US Defense needs. He then goes on to talk about POET.

He describes POET as a Gallium Arsenide technology and goes on to say it is a very disruptive technology with very serious applications for defense. And then reports that he has been meeting with the DRDO  Defence Research and Development organisation (DRDO) and with the IRSO Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman.

And we told them of this technology. How this can disrupt the roadmap for the Indian Defense. I think the reception was very good. Again time will tell how it goes further. Then he goes on to talk about wanting to contribute to the country with the launch of M2I.

So my thoughts are this may well be more than just an IRSO initiative and may have ties to the DRDO as well. http://www.changeofindia.com/top-10-drdo-future-projects-indian-armed-forces/
