'It is because he believes that he is building a special company with disruptive potential that will be realized. That is why I think most of us are here. '

In the beginning, GT infrequently made quotes of POET's disruptive potential.  Comparisons were made regarding the significant benefits of POET over silicon, i.e. processing speed and lack of heat. As a layman it was not difficult to conceive the significant advantages of shifting photons rather than electrons and converting one to the other and vice versa via POET's integrated processes and the value offering in  POET Intellectual Property ( fifty-nine patents at the last count?). What we were not clear of back then was its applications.  Yet vision and imagination pointed us to the possibilities of 'eating someone's lunch' wherein stood the value judgement of investing in the PTK.

By using the title 'the thrill has gone, I have apparently become a Glum, which is not the case, my point being in that post was that management no longer excites it's potential audience of investors with the huge potential in this technology, instead it focuses on applications.  Presently these are not true blue POET applications but originate from its subsidiaries.  The one POET application under development is under-developed.

This glum image could be resolved in my view.  The adventurous investor, like many here, is looking for the next best thing in hi tech - POET could be that, if only the layman could understand the enormous potential of POET'S IP and its progress to unleashing that potential.

So FJ whilst I have no doubt of the truth and voracity of your above quote, this company's limitation remain in its poor PR.  SV for all his technical vigour has not successfully broadly conveyed the key messages implied by building a company with disruptive potential.  We see it but others are dubious and the SP languishes.
