I didn't get to read your original post, but the longs know that POET has not failed in the GaAs platform. Did you post that they have failed? If you did then that would seem innaccurate. POET needs funding for more trials with the fourth pin solution (via the BICFET) process in order to confirm (not invent), but confirm monolithic integration. We have already been told that as discrete devices in the GaAs platform, the devices work well, but the customers only want monolithic integration for when they make the jump to the GaAs platform. That is my understanding of where POET is at. There is no failure here, just more time and more money to finalize the commercial viability of monolithically integrated GaAs devices.
