Recognize that it is a silicon solution at large node suited to these older GF foundries not a GaAs monolithic solution. Yes it is easy to recognize how this would be disappointing given the early emphasis of POET for logic applications at 45nm node using older silicon foundries. Recognize that the early work by Aya started at GF and POET is of course being developed in GaAs 6 inch foundries.
I would not give up hope in terms of POETs GaAs commercial future which can eventually lead to ultimate applications such a high performance logic using optical clock distribution.
In the meantime POET has a big capacity constrained market in 100G staring at us.
