Was about to write that it looked bad today for the conference.  There's a new fire that broke out near the main freeway to the site and is near the Getty Museum, which is not more than a mile or so from the Luxe Hotel.  Even with no wind, it would have been an awful mess.  With wind, who knows.

We complain of drought here, but we had so much rain last season that the fires we've had were somewhat predictable.  It looked great around here for several months, lots of green, where it had been brown for years, and now much of that growth is burning up.
