FJ or the other specialists:

In simple words, what does this interposer?

My idea:

The interposer is the part between the Si-chip and the fiber, receiving electic signals from the SI-chip and convering it to light, - and receiving light from the fiber converting it to electric signals.

So the interposer contains laser, detector, modulators/demodulators and the mux/demux stuff mixing/demixing the different colours of the light beam plus wave guids.

If this is right, I would estimate that there is not only the BB photonic technology involved, but also (and this is possibly why BB and DL did this merger) a lot of the magic of our good old Dr. T!!!
Remember, POET is not restricted to GaAs. Only a part of POET delt with making CMOS out of GaAS!

So finally we would have our AOC - only without the logic (4th terminal...)?
