Just to clarify, it was a division within one of the companies he previously worked for and not a company. I believed it was mentioned either by Ajit Manocha in a presentation (possibly THM in 2015) or by some other poster here on this forum back then.
So, it is safe to assume that Suresh nurtured a modest division into a multi-billion dollar component of a large corporation. The advantage he had then was capital to fund what he did. That is no different if investors come aboard and fund POET now or that, better yet, POET's revenue takes off and they can fund their own success from high-margin (+/- 50%), robust sales. The data rooms that POET is targetting through partnerships, of which Acelink, is now the first to come-aboard, will provide those sales, margins, and ability to fund POET's development even further.
So I found this on Bloomberg about Suresh and it was one of those companies where he turned a division around from miniscule into a couple billion a year sales.
