I have no doubt that management deserves a nice incentive, especially as this is a big part of their annual revenue. Me - as most of the non US/Canada shareholders can not vote (oh, this is democracy?!). Can you vote for options in general (yes/no), or the kind of options?

Management here could show us their feith!

Instead of issuing e.g. 1.000.000 options at 0,30 CAD

they could issue 2.000.000 options at 0,80 CAD. Validity: one year!

At an expected SP of 1,30 CAD this would balance. And they would have their skin in this game!
