I will answer with a question. Why wouldn't transceiver manufactures want to gain the cost savings available by substituting a higher cost ROSA with a lower cost ROSA and build on the supply relationship? Do we actually know for sure whether the ROSA and TOSA will be combined on the same optical interposer especially at higher data rates where maintaining separate heat signatures provides some thermal control advantage?
