Super post, POET 2018!!!
What I have done here to underscore your post and my just previous post is to remind shareholders of these achievements:
Highlights from the Business Update
-- Established a development and manufacturing agreement with SilTerra Malaysia, providing favorable economics for production of the POET Optical Interposer;
-- Transitioned dielectric waveguide process technology from a development lab to its own equipment in the SilTerra foundry to enable a seamless high-volume manufacturing ramp;
-- Signed a memorandum of understanding with Accelink, as a lead customer and development partner for Datacom and Telecom applications;
-- Successfully demonstrated 100Gbps Quad-PIN receivers for use with the POET Optical Interposer;
-- Announced a collaboration with Almae Technologies for the joint development, manufacturing and sales a series of laser modules based on the POET Optical Interposer platform for high-speed data communication applications;
-- Continued progress on technology and product development, including process flows and production tools for 8" interposer wafers as well as validation of advanced packaging and assembly process; and
-- Provided a detailed overview of the POET Optical Interposer platform, its unique competitive differentiators, market opportunity and size, as well as the significant cost benefits for transceiver manufacturers.
Occasionally here, I read posts that say POET has not made/sold any one its products. That's not quite true. I remind posters that newly co-developed products with Accelink and Almae Technologies will be sold as Accelink and Almae products. POET could brand their own as well if they wish for different business situations; however, POET's customers, for the moment, would be through Accelink and Almae. That saves POET from going door to door. POET currently has sales of Denselight products and any further enhancements made to them (that's the small potatoes). There is nothing to stop POET from selling to any key Denselight customers as well as the sales channels / related referrals are established. All of this is much further along than the doomsdayers try to make it to be because their mindset is cemented in past failures. The doomsdayers choose to stay in doomsday mode and they can't be right all the time. When they are wrong, they really will be wrong. Anyone can call it 100% right on speculative stocks as most do fail; but this is screaming that it won't and they know it. It just a matter of timing. Remember success is expertise, having or having access to capital to advance one's business plan, unique skills and luck. Luck can come in all sorts of ways at various times of a company's cycle. Luck alone is not enough, you need all of the prior points mentioned before I said luck (which I feel POET has done)!!! The real sales of POET will be larger Russett potatoes and not the genetically altered miniature ones!!!
