I have been working at DenseLight Semiconductors full-time (More than a year)
Pros
there's really nothing positive to say.
Cons
Top management is blind to improve the lower working tier workload. Instead builds up an inverted pyramid culture.
Parent company, POET is equally responsible for the current sorry state of Denselight by being blind to what the management is doing to skew the company's culture towards the bad.
Company promises to increase the employee population but ends up getting more heavy weights friends from … Show More

I have been working at DenseLight Semiconductors full-time (More than 5 years)
Pros
Holding a substantial number of years of experience with multiple MNC semicon / optronics / micro-optics organizations , having been in this organisation for a few years now , and having witnessed the positive changes in management after acquisition of Denselight by POET , I can easily say that this is one of the best organisations to work for in Singapore . Looking at some of the reviews below , I find it hard to … Show More
Cons
I wouldn't entirely say this as a negative feedback of the organisation or the management , but the management really needs to clearly identify and stop holding onto certain individuals and let go of them . Unfortunately , the management is very kind and patient and chooses to repeatedly remind the very same individuals of the very same inconsistencies and breaches , instead of replacing such individuals with newer … Show More
Advice to Management
Bring in more positive , driven and determined individuals . Recycle those spreading negativity , complaining and repeatedly falling short of expectations . Remind such people of industry standard practices and norms . They are being too protected here .
Good time to capture a bigger piece of the market pie , with our competitor unable to meet open market demand .

Compensation on par with market rates. Could expect to rise … Show More
Cons
Unproductive and excessively long meetings with very little participation from majority of attendees, basically an arena for the upper management to dictate their will to subordinates. You present your data, then piously listen and dutifully execute, explanations are merely excuses to their minds. Junior executive level people can expect to spend on average 10 hours per week on meetings, so can expect up to 2h OT … Show More
Advice to Management
Please go downstairs to the production floor more often and see for yourself the real situation on the ground.

Cons
Poor, temperamental management.
Employees are shouted at by short tempered/impatient bosses.
Environment not conducive for learning and development.
