Interesting that you would mention Subhash. I was just thinking of him the other day. One of the more interesting comments I heard from a senior management person at the time was not how badly he would be missed but how much money was being saved by his departure. Clearly his departure was an indication that there was nothing for him to work with because they could not move forward with the GaAs platform.
Today one of the first questions I would have as a new employee is "where is the money coming from"? The overhead is clearly many multiples of what it was but money does not seem to be a problem as the hiring appears to continue unabated.
