One element at play. The company has been getting calls from short term investors the kind that would short the stock to reduce the price to get in on a cheap financing and access to warrants. We saw this play out so clearly in 2016. 

There was certainly a lot of misunderstanding around the announcement and POET has been working overtime to try to correct the markets understanding around the deal and the many moving parts around it which are to great degree confidential. People here have been burned a number of times and there is suspicion around what is happening that traders love to exploit. Many here are fully invested and are not in a position to buy more especially if there are clouds of misunderstanding.

The company has made an effort to make people aware and signal the market that short term investors are not going to take advantage this time as there will not be a public financing. They do not need a public financing to bridge the period until the deal closes. They have the equity in DenseLight but more importantly the details around the LOI are available under NDA to whatever lender they choose. I am hoping we will  see this part play out very soon.
