Baba: GaAs in my mind is not going to be something that is significant to POET in the future.
I don’t give it much if any thought Baba but I do believe Dr Taylor was way ahead of his time in those designs and POET continues to maintain all the patents which is an expense that would be difficult to justify while they were developing the optical Interposer platform.
And yes Dr Taylor continues to build upon that invention with the VCSEL array patent. How can he justify the time and expense to file if the platform has no future?
The immense optical gain and electron mobility offered can’t be ignored forever. I think that a renewed effort not constrained by money and time will eventually be justified to bring it back to life in the future when the time is right.
