As a stock that has not done well over time, POET attracts shorting discussions, cuz, really, how else can so many of us brilliant people be wrong - must be an outside force!  Well, I have not seen that POET is riddled by shorters, not over the long haul.  I dismiss almost entirely the notion that shorters are giving us trouble.

What I haven't seen anyone mention is that perhaps people that would like to and do participate in the debenture offering may sell their current POET holdings in order to finance the purchase of the debentures or to try to keep some semblance of balance in their portfolio by not having it be so overweight with POET stock.

I think the debenture is a very good deal for those who like POET.  And I assume about 85% of those who post on or read this board fall squarely into that category.
