I thought about this a lot in the past few years, Perhaps Ajit and Coppeti sold Suresh hard on the GAAS platform and when he didn’t see that coming to fruition, Suresh had to make a pivot to the areas (fortunately for all of us) where through his experience he thought the industry was heading, aided by his conversations with the right customers/industry leaders as to what their bottlenecks were and perhaps what their wish lists were as well.

Hence, the purchase of Denselight, then BB Photonics , which he even told us at the town hall how they (BB)can help with the products maintaining a good temperature through their dielectric process which he felt was important to the industry going forward, all done in Indium Phosphide as well.  All this combined with his experience and customer focus (most probably solutions he believed would remedy what they desired in their upcoming products) have lead us to the Optical Interposer.

And now we await as the impact of this crucial pivot has yet to be played out.
