I could be wrong here, but I have a feeling that there is a misunderstanding about what Tier1 and Tier2 companies are. Tier1 and Tier2 has nothing to do with the size, worth or market cap of a company (although it might)
It relates to what these companies do in the manufacturing process of components.
Tier2 companies make the "sub assemblies"
Tier1 companies put the sub assemblies together to make "modules"
These modules are them sold to the big guys.
So, our partner in Calgary, Luxmux, is as much a Tier1 company as is Accelink.
Not about size, it's about what you do.
But, the bigger you are, the more POET pieces you will buy!! :-)
While we wait for news, the imagination can work full time, but Google, Facebook and Microsoft are "end users", and not "Tier1"
