Great article, oz4m2. With Suresh's forward thinking, I think one can understand the move towards PIC and less or no focus on VCSEL. Suresh has always said (paraphrased) that it only makes sense to work on what customers want. The needs are there, but it has to fit what they want.

Now I ask this forum what do datacom networks need the most? More and faster bandwidth at reduced costs. Does POET fulfill those needs along with compatibility to existing standards or to extend standards? I would believe that answer to be 'yes'.
