You don't push forward and try to convince any souls on Taylors GaAs research because it wasn't ready for commercial production. So he didn't risk his reputation in the industry by making a bad first impression. They had plan B and Suresh to bring that to fruition. GaAs is just deferred as I think Poet was very close. Again, it comes down more to being compatible with what the industry can handle now and that is where Poet is fitting in in my opinion. Nail silicon and Inp, then research until you are blue in the face, possibly, in partnership with other people's money. I think there is much more to the overall GaAs picture than people realize and Poet had to make the decision they did.
