Why would anyone go to all the effort and cost to form a very specific consortium to buy a fairly small, questionably profitable company in Singapore unless they believed there was a major benefit in doing so?

Asian or otherwise, they must see something. I'm sorry, but we should all hope it is the link to Poet that has caused the action.
