Kizzy,

My life experience has shown me that the creation of the impression of expertise and success, carefully crafted over time, are the bread and butter characteristic of snake oil salesmen who have no humility and would have you believe that following them is the only true path to success.  The reality is that manipulating a pool of followers is the only path to their own success not their followers.

So I go along with your concern but would advise that walking on by and ignoring the salesman's pitch is so obviously the best policy for peace of mind.  That said, I am quite sure that it is possible to play the waves created by the natural rhythm of risky venture capital stocks such as PTK and to make gains.  But when that is being sold to us by a undesirable controlling external interest rather than through our own internal judgement - there are clear pitfalls.

I am sorry So many here are affected by the time this project is taking and the lack of SP progress, but the rational for investing in photons rather than electrons remains and still prevails.

I was delighted when this company decided to initiate a project and take it through all its necessary stages from initial development to manufacturing rather than find a buyer for the IP ala the Coppeti years.  I wanted to see POET make an optical electrical product and they have.  I was frustrated by the false start and the blip of the fourth terminal issue with GaAs, but then was convinced by the sound decision that the product needed to be carefully aimed at the most viable markets.   Thus Our managements decision to go with the OI was well researched and sound and that is now reinforced by two facts. a. A Tire  one customer pulling us along and b. the expensive DD of the consortium buying POET DL.

The product will be completed in Q4 2019 and NRE revenue already flowing will increase as the 100g and 5g market get the opportunity to sample, and also when 400G bites in with more voracity in Q3 2020.  This is as good as gets for a pre manufacturing project in my opinion, projects take a long time, patience is a necessity  But post AGM analysis Puts mass manufacturing 400g as looking as if it will begin in Q3.  I don't think any of the aforesaid positivity is hype, a quotient off luck is needed but PTK management appear to be making their own.

So why wait for little sets of waves to ride when there is a tsunami heading our way.  Wax your boards and consider whether you may need a bigger surfboard perhaps. But let's just let the bears play in the little waves they make in their own paddling pool, it's not illegal just an irritant to longs.  Who cares they're just having fun until they get swamped by The kinetic potential and value we see built up into PTI, which is currently buzzing and soon to be released in the form of the marketing of a completed OI.  Very soon there will be a market reaction based on the interest this marketing efforts will have in its domain of others tier one PIC manufacturers and other sensing applications.  The consortium know this which is why they are building a fab to offer the tech to the Chinese market which would be hard for them to access in any other way.  Meanwhile our Customer1 will I suspect be in a more advanced state with his offering than we realise, as the OI has been codevloped between two sets of engineers of the respective companies, and Customer1 may well have marketing plans in mind of his own, which may well have been already hinted at if we're reading the dots correctly on the board.

A little conjecture here on the marketing of OI perhaps but I feel the technical and pre manufacturing phases are now well established.
