I would not trust Lily Wu to tell the story in an unbiased way.  I prefer hearing from Suresh, many times over than Lily, and I liked what Suresh said.  In my mind, Lily is a smooth mouthpiece, and does a fine job at it.  PC's famous quote, "I'm all about shareholder value."  Corporate-speak, nothing more.

Beyond that, taking what you quote at face value, when Lily says that the due diligence is done, she can only mean about where Poet was at that point in time with respect to the OI.  And we all knew at that time, that the OI was not quite done in that one of eight elements (deliverables) was still lacking.  As Oz pointed out sometime later, there are various other things that remain to be done after the eighth element is delivered.  Certainly we had been apprised in early November (or earlier) of further work/testing needed after the 8th deliverable, like combining the elements and making sure they all work together well.  However, my sense of the further work then was not as great as what Oz laid out several days ago.  I think that post of Oz's put a little damper on things, it did for me anyway.

So, to me, if things aren't going the way the Consortium wants them to go tech-wise, they will seek a way to protect themselves.  Again, to me, that does not contradict what Lily said about DD being complete - it was complete enough and satisfactory enough to put up $8 million, a very big step and commitment.  Personally, I don't care for people/companies that agree to do one thing and then decide to do another when circumstances change.  Unfortunately, I think it's part of doing business these days and those with the keys to the vault tend to have an advantage.
