The rumours have died since the PC days because all they seemed to have back then was only promotion. PC still seemed wise enough, though, to find a way for Poet to continue as I think he still saw Poet had a good thing, but he needed to find the right kind of experts to run the company. Since Suresh came aboard, realism has returned to Poet, hence the rumours have died down. OI is the way now. GaAs might still find its niche in the future, but OI is an answer to an industry need now. So there is a lot to be positive about, but the risks of execution, competition, and dilution are always there. As Poet mitigates each challenge, which I think they have done for the past 3 years or so, then the opportunity cost still makes this worthwhile for investors.
