Steve ? Promises of NRE in late 2020 which can again slip as needed.
Pretty sure that the Tier 1 remains interested so how are they going get the POET optical interposer into their roadmap without paying for it through NRE? The industry wide slippage in 400G optical modules is no doubt costing the Tier 1 a lot of money as it is with many of the big players. If NRE does not happen then I don’t think they can move forward. And they did not talk about NRE in late 2020. Can you provide that link or quote where late 2020 was talked about for NRE. I must have missed it if that was said. I will bet there is a good possibility that it has already been agreed to if as they say their Tier 1 is eager to have a solution. Also Steve there are many that are working on the problem but as we have been told time and time again POET is the only company that is known to have achieved this level of integration. And let’s face it these guys talk to each other. Whenever I have spoken with Suresh and ask him about competing technologies he knows everything about what they are doing or it certainly seems that way and he knows the company principals. They talk and compare and of course these discussions often end up with what do I have that will work well with what you have?
I know that Vivek has been talking with Suresh for long time about the POET platform and I suspect some of the emerging roadmap is very much driven by him on optical side. I also believe he was very instrumental in the move to Allentown to be with cutomers and suppliers.
