Your understanding was many others' understanding as well. Never made complete sense to me, cuz if they wanted DL, they only really needed to deal with the people that had the right to acquire all of it.  To the extent they wanted reassurance from POET, I can see involvement, or, of course, to the extent they want to buy all of POET, but I don't think the share price/volume ever supported such a rumor that perhaps POET would be sold, too.
