Interesting. One of the COSMICC-members is Finisar. Folks that read this board regularly will remember Finisar, now owned by II-VI.

It seems to me that II-VI was one of the first to recognise the abilities of POET´s solution. Something went wrong with their courtship and therefore they gathered other partners to build something compareable: COSMICC. Or were they planning something like this before and POET got in their way? We will never know.

First thing you will notice on the internet sites: COSMICC uses future tense, POET uses present tense. Cosmicc: Laser integration is a milestone for 2021.

I have no idea of performance numbers and their comparability. Fairchjisback pointed out POET´s advantages at integration and rapid production, it´s hard to believe COSMICC wil beat POET here. However, II-VI has to be taken seriously and if their approach is good too, they will get their market shares. POET will get no gifts, they have to deserve it.
