I don't remember anyone being that catagorical about it. But clearly I don't remeber all the posts.  And based on managements timelines for closing the deal and the recent article.  I don't believe that the speculation was baseless and worthy of censorship.

Perhaps you could have just provided your contrary opinion,  without painting the whole board as a bunch of idiots. We all want the same outcome here.
