Lots of posters here are creating unnecessary anxt given their lack of understanding of the tech.  Personally,  I don’t think one needs to know or understand what is inside the black box of the POET Optical Interposer when the external facts speak for themselves of an opportunity that is vast. More needs to happen and time to pass before investors catch on, if this doesn't match your expectations for SP take off revise your expectations.

 

The speed of light (photons) is 670,616,629 miles per hour whilst the speed of an electron is calculated to be just one percent of that.  Another calculation is that an electron would travel around the world in 18 seconds.  Clearly it makes logical sense to use photons to speed up communicating over distances. Similarly look at a rainbow with all its different colours, each colour represents a different frequency, a fact that allows photons at different frequencies to be sent down the same optical fibre allowing much more data to be moved at the same time, without the power needed to move electrons around.

 Given the considerable, ever growing, amount of data sent around the world communicating with photons is an undeniable way ahead . Science has already provided a solution to converting electrons to photons, but the problem is the cost and complexity of the manufacturing process to do so. 

As a consequence of the above, a race began to find (the holy grail of optical computing) an elegant cost effective design to convert electrons to protons sent down optical fibre and vice versa, along with efficient manufacturing and testing processes to roll out optical communications at large scale; a race leader is found in POET technologies Optical Interposer which has significantly better performance at considerably lower cost than any first generation products.  The  POET optical Interposer platform of products are production ready and following their joint venture agreement to manufacture optical engines containing the POET  Optical Interposer with a world leading IC manufacturing company - SANAN IC,  customers and orders for the OI are growing.

The Share price of POET technology (PTK) on the Toronto Stock exchange is currently circa $C 0.50.  There is no better price to enter the Optical Communications Market. (inc  5G, 400G) than this company offers, a company that aims to be a leader in what is a burgeoning optical integration market.  It’s future envisages entry into the automotive industry, artificial intelligence amongst other verticals.

IMO - Understanding the opportunity not the tech is what investors need to know!
