I must say, this is the standard way this board reacts to other developments.

Could we please stop the "this board" rhetoric. As if it has its own blinkered view and is a singular entity. I might also add, you seem to be a very prolific contributor here and are therefore part of this community. Thus guilty by association.  If you care to tell us all why you think this tech is an imminent danger to POET please feel free. Make some comparisons perhaps and start a debate. Rather than this veiled dig at everyone. I highly doubt you'll get an intelligent debate on the other board (SH).

Agora is full of some very bright minds and they give their honest opinion. Doesn't mean everyone believes it. Should we be getting our knickers in twist every time we see research similar to poets? No we shouldn't, it shows we are in the right place at the right time.

It is quite clear this particular research is still some years off being ready for commercial use. Doesn't mean it isn't excellent work or even a competitor down the road.  I'm really not sure what you expect us all to do with this development?? Everyone is well aware our competitors won't be standing still and that management have a finite window of opportunity. 

Until one of the big players in this market comes out and says they have something commercially viable and is of a similar makeup to POETs, then we needn't deliberate to much on its merits. You only have to look at the timeline of BB photonics to see this research still has some way to go. And when it's ready, great, poet will still have a very healthy future.
