Dear OZ,
Here is what i really don't understand when listening to all these presentations by the EPIC members.
Most of them are stil pointing to conceptual ways of doing CPOs and than they point out that their is challenges in doing so and no ones bring a clear-water solution to the table.
It's been said more than once, laser is the issue, silicon cannot lase well-enough. Optics needs scalabitily but how... lower costs, lower power, interpolability, ecosystem, etc... etc.. etc... it is big yawn for me all over again
POET execs have been on record lately, saying what they are providing with the interposer platform and it just seems to me that it isn't making in-roads within either the EPIC members or whatever else consortium/communities out there working on a CPO solution.
Why is that?
Yes, yes, we get mention in economical report as a player but where is the recognition from within the photonic community itself?
I had to write it, it is bugging me. Maybe Suresh is planning a big "splash" that no-one saw coming but how can this be even possible?
Have a good day all,
