At the 18 minute mark Kaushik Patel from CISCO states:

As far as this current product deployment we are very focused on low loss integrated coupling solutions for laser and fiber coupling. Highly integrated CMOS electrical and optical IC’s CoC with flip chip packaging.

Pretty sure we know where the coupling efficiency they are very focused on is sourced from. And sounds very much like a disaggregated approach to flip chip multiple chiplets into a multi-chip package which is the basic POET platform. We don’t know yet in terms of platform but it stands to reason that POET built light bar to provide a low loss coupling for silicon for the US Tier 1
