"The intent of releasing news would be to release news, not to fiddle around with any technical analysis issues of the share price."

As a publicly traded company, why can't it be both? And if you plan to release news why not time it more strategically? It would make absolutely no sense to do otherwise.

Many companies do it and they are all the more successful for it. For example, if a company has an acceleration clause where warrants need to be above a certain price for a a period of time they absolutely release news in order to sustain the share price, and why wouldn't they?  

Anyway, they released news which seemingly has not had a major reaction just yet. GLTA.
