Easychillin,

Although I don't know anything about tech, after considering your question, I've concluded that the round shape is necessary to be able to effeciently utilize the wafers on a turntable. What sets the Poet solution decisively apart from the others, is that the wafer works (and sounds) the same at 33, 45 and 78 rpm's. Genius!
