A new economic model is being established by POET as result of lower cost multiplexing. In this  case the POET LR4 transceiver with its lower build cost as a result of its unique monolithic low cost multiplexing capabilities means that it becomes more cost efficient to run 1/4 the fiber to transfer the same volume of data.  This will dramatically reduce fiber plant costs and drive decisions to ultimately utilize multiplexed solution across shorter distances. In other words there becomes a significant savings in the fiber plant because you now have a more affordable solution that only requires ¼ the fiber.

This is where the big brain optical funds that Suresh talked about on the NASDAQ will sharpen their pencils and consider all parts of the equation to recommend their investment decisions.  

POET will change the data center model IMO.
