Junkers, I've seen first hand the corporate tech world attitudes that prevail when other solutions, outside the internal solutions, are seen as superior, innovative....the way of the future. In the past, I saw large mainframe solutions being pushed internally when it was obvious to most that desktop solutions were the way of the future. Sometimes tech departments in larger corps are all about protecting their personal positions and pride, and their internal attempts at innovation, so they are verry reluctant to advise outside solutions.  Thus, it becomes more about themselves and not so much about the betterment of the company.
