Message: Why Sanan Optoelectronics Co. Ltd. will make a bid to acquire POET

Just speculation for those who have the time and the interest..

It seems to me the value of the takeover bid can be determined at two levels.

First level has been well covered in this thread.. 1 billion times earnings etc..

But the second level is more interesting. Poet’s patents and their potential to drive disruption and take the pole positions in many verticals and more importantly in military applications must weigh heavy on the minds of both President Sh and ‘the directing minds’ in America.

Neither can afford to lose control and/or access to these patents and their potential initiatives. To do so it would abandon I believe abandon "the field" to the winner.

We have six domains of war unlike the days when I served – simply--- land, sea and air but today we also have economic, space and cyber. Poet would be an important asset in the cyber arsenal for the nation who controls Poet’s patents. It is the key terrain…. The Commanding Heights.. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiTWfB4Hnks&list=PLQb7yf5UFO1BGXF6mXFzL7H1_J5KIn3Jp&index=4

Accordingly the value of poet is certainly worth the first level.. BUT --- What price would the Chinese government pay to control through our ‘partner’  Sanan  for all ?? … And in such an event what price using the tier 1 ‘partner’ --- supported indirectly by the American government---- submit.

It is a win –lose outcome on the Grand Chessboard. It may be the key to the Game.. Pres Sh has made the long-term strategy clear for China.. It will be ‘Global Power’.. Replacing USA to include the US dollar as the vehicle currency.. The battle has been underway for some time.. This is a strategic piece on the board!

It is fun to dream…tpower
