Gordonhead to be fair, I don't know if we can put 2015 on SV , it was a totally different scenario. Poet was flying high on speculation from the previous management. Pumping the stock with Sheldon on their side to unsustainable levels. SV came in and presented the facts, of what was going on and where they should focus and what the company was realistically able to do, in the time frame that was needed. Sure there was unknown factors along the way, with financing and dealing with fabs for getting test wafers made.
The share price dropped to more valuation type levels and the story carried on. I don't believe that SV veered off to much since then, except for some revised products to sell and timeline being pushed out because of priority. Having Tier 1, cash rich company's dictating their orders be filled first before Poet could get theirs filled. Hence, the purchase of Denselight and BB Photonics. This gave them full control of wafer testing and production and the vision of building the Optical Interposer and all other products coming from it.
