The aforementioned hubleaders were and are very long term. For sure Rainer has very much provided us with his work and he has of course demonstrated a very long term commitment.

We met Rainer for the first time when he traveled from his home in Germany to come to the UCONN lab tour and AGM.

It is fun to meet people in person and we don't have much of that these days so it is beneficial that we try to get to know a person who will become a hub leader before the keys to that power are handed over. In the case of CA it could be weeks not the typical long courtship we usually see to get to know someone.
