What I heard Tom say was that a lot of warrant holders would not sell their shares.

THat does not negate the fact that they would not sell their current holdings to buy back the warrants.

Another interesting point I found was his emphasis on chinese investor  of 15x revenue for sp valuation. This was a comment regarding M&A . So it almost sounds to me like any Poet M&A would be with a chinese co.
