Okay, so in the interest of fairness, there have been some considerable delays articulated today. Not debating the why, just the empirical reality. I wrote the below earlier this year in April when the company clearly changed the slide timelines, we've done it again today, even more pronounced. So we start with initial delays shown previously and I will bold what we learned today:
April:
"If you look at the Product Roadmap on the slides, you will see the now formally acknowledged delayed timetable, looks like about a quarter minimum for all four platforms. Used the last presentation roadmap for comparison:
100/200G was "production" 2021 Q3, now Q4 Now separated, both 100/200 2nd half 2022 (9-12 months delay)
400G Light Engine was "production" in 2021 Q3, now no "production" this year No specific update here
400G FR4 Receiver was "production" mid 2021 Q3, now Q4 No specific update, FR4 production 1st half 2023(big delay)
400G FR4/DR Optical Eng was "beta" by 2021 Q3, now just "alpha" Q4 (was Q2) Alpha now 1st half 2022"
I enjoyed the AGM, but once I really drilled down and saw the substantial delays, I now wish they had said more in the interest of transparency...you changed the roadmap acknowledge it. Listening to the presentations, Suresh clearly said they had overcome the challenges and remained on track, that is nowhere close to what the slides said today. Lots of catalysts to come, I'm optimistic, but this is objectively a material change. Anyways, for digestion.
