I have been speaking about potential new investors that will eventually do their DD on POET
I honestly think we might be giving far to much credit to these potential new investors. We are on the venture exchange and most individuals prepared to put their money into such a stock are probably not looking at the fundementals too closely and doing massive amounts of DD. They are attracted by volume buying and eye catching NR's. The kind of sophisticated inverstors who will look into the management share struture are waiting for us on the NASDAQ.
So for now we appear to be caught between a rock and hard place. Putting out great news has a short term affect and then the trading starts, it's blighted this stock for years.
I am talking about potential new investors, they see Pink Sheets (OTC) with 1% insider ownership and more cash burn than income.
I am not convinced management buying shares will alter this situation. For them to have a reasonable percentage of the outstanding stock (Cira 400m), they'd need to be buying in the millions. Lets say SV, VR, TM all bought 100,000 shares each. That would equate to a 0.075% holding and would cost them around $100K each, which is a lot of money for the vast majority. Would this really impress any would-be investor looking at the managements holdings?
I can get the sentiment that we've all ploughed our own money into PTK and so should management. But I'm with Royalton on this. They are surely showing their commitment and desire for success in many other ways that we as shareholders can't do and will benefit from.
