I agree, mgmt should improve on their messaging. If there are issues or delays, they should feel free to acknowledge it.

That said, if the delays are supply chain related, then what else could they say other than that?

Imagine you're sitting there waiting for parts and your boss come and say "What the heck are you doing? And don't give me that supply chain excuse!!!" It makes no sense, and you know it.
