He worked with Michael Lebby at a company called One Chip Photonics previously I believe.  Worked at BB Photonics with Bill Ring. Worked at Poet for about 3 years until April 2020, then self-employed since, per his LinkedIn. Note that the other patent shown on the webpage you've linked in your post is co-authored with Trevor Hall, the professor from University of Ottawa who founded Millview Photonics, the company that Poet partnered with in 2019 to collaborate on photonics designs. Lots of connections over the years. Patents list attached includes many from his time at Poet.
