I am notarobot I am a little surprised that you are here posting that you feel there is no difference between the end of 2016 and now. I started going through a very long list of differences and decided it was just way too time long and time consuming.
The reality is that the differences are huge. Did POET have a groundbreaking technology that was ready for commercialization at the end of 2016 and an established partner bankrolling the operation? That would be no. The GaAs platform would require much more time and money to develop and Suresh did what Suresh does. He found a way to expand the dielectric filtering technology into a platform technology with unparalleled connectivity capability.
The list is very, very long and if you can't see that then you need to open your eyes and open your mind.
